HP Slate The $800 Touchscreen netbook

HP finally released the HP Slate, a touchscreen device that has windows 7, It runs on a 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 processor, has 2GB RAM and a 64GB SSD, along with a Broadcom accelerator for 1080p video, a USB port, HDMI-out, a hardware Ctrl-Alt-Delete switch, a button to activate the on-screen keyboard and a pair of cameras, one on the back for photos and one on the front for Skyping.

I don't think people here will buy this piece of expensive crap, it can not match with Apple's iPad even though it can do more things than the iPad. Plus the screen is too small it will only hurt your eyes while using this.

BlackBerry PlayBook : The New Challenger To The iPad

RIM ( Research in Motion ) finally unveiled their touchscreen device to the public. 

Instead of the "BlackPad", RIM is calling its 7-inch, camera-packing tablet the BlackBerry PlayBook. CEO Mike Lazaridis showed off the long-rumored device during the keynote of RIM’s BlackBerry developer conference in San Francisco on Monday.

Expect a 0.9-pound tablet that’s 9.7mm (or 0.4 inch) thick, complete with (as rumored) a pair of cameras: a 5-megapixel camera in the back, and a 3MP lens in front, both capable of recording HD video — nice.

The 7-inch display will boast a resolution of 1024 by 600, and yes, it’s a capacitive multitouch display, good for such multi-finger gestures as pinching and zooming.

Kubuntu 9.10

 

I recently installed kubuntu 9.10 in my desktop computer, and it was really easy to install and use. Although I had a little problem configuring my sun broadband wireless internet, but I made it work after a few tweaks which I will be posting soon. After the install, it has already document, instant messenger and web browser installed. The UI is pretty cool and its easy to use. I personally prefer kubuntu UI than ubuntu.
